Walmart just dropped an exciting bombshell to close out 2020: The retail giant has decided to make returns easier than ever by picking them up from your doorstep! That's right - you don't even have to leave your couch to return that ugly sweater from Aunt Barbara.
Walmart has placed themselves ahead of the curve with this brand new way to make returns on items shipped and sold by Walmart.com with Carrier Pickup by FedEx. It’s a big convenience for consumers during the holidays, and an excellent way to increase safety amidst the ongoing COVID-19 situation. However, Walmart isn't stopping with the holidays - it seems this convenient system is here to stay!
How does it work?
Returning your item(s) is easy:
Start a return at walmart.com or on the Walmart App.
Select the item you want to return.
Choose a pickup date.
Pack the item, affix the printable label, and place outside for pickup!
Don't have a printer? No problem! In addition to the option of having a return picked up from home, customers can opt to drop their returns off at any FedEx location with a QR code generated online or in the Walmart App. It's not quite as convenient as leaving it on your doorstep, but it sure beats having to wait in line at Walmart to make a return.

Someone finally one-ups Amazon
While Amazon will let you make returns at Kohl's and other convenient locations, they still won't come to your house and pick up your returns. Looks like Walmart finally thought of something first. Do you think Amazon (and other retailers) will follow suit? Will you make good use of it this holiday season or in the future? We’d love to hear from you!
