If you're an Amazon seller, you're probably familiar with Brand Registry and how it protects you against infringement by unauthorized resellers that devalue your brand. From MAP violations to creating product listings with your brand name, there are many ways other sellers can violate your Amazon presence. Now Walmart has introduced the Walmart Brand Portal, offering sellers similar protections on walmart.com.
Just like on Amazon, you must have an active trademark registration with the USPTO (United States Patent and Trademark Office) for your brand(s) in order to be eligible. The Brand Portal allows you to submit intellectual property claims against trademark, counterfeit, copyright, and patent infringements. You can even authorize third-party representatives to submit claims on your behalf. Once claims are submitted, you are able to monitor their status in the portal.
